Connecting our classrooms with our personal networks
- Create google surveys to send out to friends and colleagues
- Share those surveys through your social media connections.
- Use a google survey to find out what kinds of speakers teachers are looking for
- Create a database of experts to share with teachers in your building or district
- Have students email interview questions and correspond with experts when Skyping isn't an option

- One of our Spanish teachers is from Costa Rica and has his class Skype with his family for real world language usage.
- Another Spanish teacher has a sister in Guatemala involved in a watershed program. Her class Skypes with team members to work on their Spanish but also to learn about environmental issues such as clean water.
- A Social Studies class learning about the Middle East connected with several people via email who were living in a variety of countries. They also Skyped with a friend of mine in Bahrain. Students had questions prepared prior to the Skype session and took turns asking. The session was recorded and podcasted for later use.
